Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has announced the M3 Max. It is a 6″ device with a metal housing and a battery with a capacity of 4100mAh. The device uses a MediaTek Helio P10-soc, has 3GB of ram and 64GB of storage.

The M3 Max is a larger variant of the M3 Note, a model with a 5.5″ screen that Meizu introduced in April. Like that device, the new version has a battery with a capacity of 4100mAh. Because the M3 Max with its 6 screen is larger than the Note, the thickness of the device has decreased by 0.3 mm while the battery capacity has remained the same.

The octacore soc has four Cortex A53 cores operating at 1.8GHz and a cluster of four A53 cores operating at 1GHz. At the back of the device is a 13-megapixel camera, which uses a Sony IMX258 sensor. The lens has an aperture of f/2.2.

The device is equipped with a fingerprint scanner and runs on Android, with Meizu’s Flyme OS as a skin on top. There is support for 4g, but it is unknown whether the device works on all 4g frequencies used in the Benelux. Often some bands are missing on Chinese smartphones.

In China, the device will be priced at 1,699 yuan. Converted including VAT, that is about 274 euros.
