Medion releases 6″ smartphone for 349 euros in the Benelux

After a series of new product introductions at IFA, the German manufacturer Medion has announced the launch of the Life X6001 in the Benelux. The device with a 6-inch screen and a full-HD resolution will cost 349 euros.

The Life X6001 includes an ‘octacore’ SOC at 2GHz, a MediaTek MT6592 with eight Cortex A7 cores and a Mali 450 GPU at 700MHz. The device also has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage memory. There is no micro SD slot to expand the memory.

On the back is a 13-megapixel camera and the front is an 8-megapixel version. Both cameras are equipped with a flash. The device supports wireless charging based on the Qi standard and the battery capacity is 3000mAh. The smartphone does not have 4G on board and has support for 3G up to 21Mbit/s.

Medion provides the device with Android 5.1, but adds the GoPal navigation app and a trial version of McAfee Mobile Security. The device is available immediately through the Medion web store itself and will also be available through partners.
