Medion introduces gaming laptop with RTX 4090 and optional external water cooling
Medion has announced the Erazer Beast X40, a gaming laptop with GeForxe RTX 4090 GPU and an optional water cooler that should lead to better performance in games. In addition, the brand announces a 16-inch gaming laptop with RTX 4070.
The Medion Erazer Beast X40 comes with an Intel Core i9-13900HX and a GeForce RTX 4090 with 16GB of memory. The water cooler can be attached to the back of the laptop. According to Medion, depending on the game, it should yield ‘up to ten percent’ performance increase. The laptop also has 32GB DDR5 memory and a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
The 17″ screen has a qhd+ resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The refresh rate is 240Hz and the screen supports one hundred percent of the sRGB color spectrum. The laptop supports G-SYNC, has SteelSeries speakers and a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Ultra Low Profile Switches.
The laptop comes with Windows 11 Home, has two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port. All three are Type A. There are also a Thunderbolt 4-Type C port, an HDMI 2.1 port, an Ethernet port and a 3.5mm port. In addition, there is a Kensington Lock and an SD card slot. The laptop measures 383x33x272mm and weighs 2862g.
Medions Erazer Beast X40 with RTX 4090 costs 4499 euros and is available from February 10. There will also be a cheaper version with RTX 4080, 1TB storage and 16GB memory. This model costs 3499 euros. The Erazer Cooling Kit water cooler costs 249 euros and will also be released on February 10.
Erazer Major X20-16″ gaming laptop
On February 20, Medion will also release the Erazer Major X20. This is a 16″ laptop with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4070 GPU. This graphics card has 8GB of RAM. The CPU of this laptop is, just like the Beast X40, Intel’s Core i9-13900HX. This laptop has the same keyboard switches as the Beast X40, the same 2TB SSD and the same 32GB memory as the Beast X40 top model.The resolution and refresh rate are also the same as the Beast and the laptop also supports G-SYNC.
The Major X20 also has the same ports as the Beast model. The Major is slightly smaller than the Beast at 357x30x269mm and also weighs less than the more expensive laptop at 2236g. The Major X20 costs 2499 euros. This laptop will also be available with i7-13700HX and 16GB memory; this model costs 2299 euros.
