Mediatek announces Dimensity 9200+-soc with higher clock speeds
MediaTek has announced the Dimensity 9200+, a variant of its high-end soc with higher clock speeds for the processor cores and the gpu. On other points, the soc is unchanged compared to the 9200.
All CPU cores can reach higher clock speeds, MediaTek claims. This results in a speed gain of 10 percent, although the company does not specify which figures it bases on. The Arm Immortalis G715 GPU has received a 17 percent higher clock speed and therefore delivers up to 10 percent higher performance. MediaTek does not mention what the higher clock speeds do for power consumption.
The 9200+ is a variant of the Dimensity 9200 presented last year. That was the manufacturer’s first soc without support for 32-bit apps. This too can only handle 64bit software. Manufacturers will present the first phones with this soc this month. In addition, MediaTek comes with the Dimension 8050but it looks similar to the Dimensity 1200.
