Mass Effect veteran and production director Dragon Age Dreadwolf is leaving BioWare
BioWare veteran Mac Walters left the studio late last year. He announced this on LinkedIn. Walters was lead writer for Mass Effect 2 and 3, among other things. He was also production director on Dreadwolf, the next game in the Dragon Age series.
Walter confirms in a post on LinkedIn that he left BioWare after 19 years. As some of you already know, I decided to leave BioWare at the end of last year. His LinkedIn profile shows that Walters is currently taking a career break to pursue personal goals. The BioWare veteran gives no further reason for his departure.
Mac Walters had been with BioWare since September 2003. He started there as a writer for the game Jade Empire, which was released in 2005 for Xbox and PC. He then worked as a senior writer for the first Mass Effect game. He later served as lead writer for Mass Effect 2 and 3, narrative director for Anthem, the creative director for Mass Effect Andromeda, and the project director for the Mass Effect Legendary Edition remasters.
As of January 2022, Walters served as the production director for Dragon Age Dreadwolf, the first major game in the Dragon Age franchise since 2014’s Inquisition. Dreadwolf has no release date to date. BioWare announced in 2018 that it is working on a fourth game in the series and announced the name of the game last year.
