Maserati Announces Electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore
Italian automaker Maserati has announced a new EV that should hit the market in 2025. The Maserati GranTurismo Folgore is the brand’s first electric car and should be the start of an EV lineup.
The new GranTurismo Folgore is part of Maserati’s EV plan. The company aims to produce only electric cars by 2030. The GranTurismo Folgore is a first step in that direction. This car should appear on the market in 2025.
In addition, the manufacturer wants to release an electric variant for all Maserati models from 2025. In addition to the GranTurismo Folgore, there will also be an electric sedan and suv, but the manufacturer has not yet given any details about it. Extensive specifications for the GranTurismo Folgore are also still pending. Maserati only shared that the EV has 1200hp. This would allow the car to hit 100 km/h in just over 2 seconds.
Maserati is part of the multinational Stellantis, which also includes Peugeot, Chrysler and Opel. Stellantis had previously announced that other subsidiaries will focus only on electric cars in the future.
