Apple is working on a 'significantly' thinner iPhone 17. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman writes this in his weekly newsletter. The American tech company is also said to be currently developing a thinner Macbook Pro and a thinner variant of the Apple Watch.

Gurman claims that Apple will launch the thinner iPhone 17 in 2025. It is still unclear when Apple plans to introduce the thinner MacBook Pro and Apple Watch and how much thinner these devices will become. The tech journalist claims that Apple wants to continue the line of the recently announced iPad Pro (2024), although it is not yet clear whether all devices in the line-up will become thinner.

Gurman writes in his newsletter that the first beta versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia will be available later this summer and that they will have to make do with a limited number of AI functions. The official release will follow in the fall of this year and then the AI functions that are currently in the operating systems, such as the ability to create summaries of notifications, messages and websites, will be given a preview status. Many other announced AI features would not arrive until 2025. The integration of ChatGPT should arrive this year.

Finally, Gurman writes that OpenAI is not paid by Apple for the integration of ChatGPT. OpenAI reportedly likes the access it gets to Apple's customer base and is banking on potential new customers through the integration of its AI chatbot.
