Mario Kart Tour Has Over 20 Million Downloads After Day One
The Mario Kart Tour game is said to have been downloaded more than 20 million times in the first 24 hours after its release. That makes it by far Nintendo’s most popular mobile game. The game was released last week after a beta period.
The data has not been disclosed by Nintendo itself, but market researcher Sensor Tower has figures for downloads via Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store. This shows that more than 20 million downloads have been recorded. That’s significantly more than the 7 million Super Mario Run had after day one; this title was Nintendo’s most popular mobile game to date.
Additionally, Sensor Tower states that players spent approximately $1 million on the game in the first 24 hours. That is less than other Nintendo games, according to the market researcher.
Mario Kart Tour has been available as a beta for quite some time this year, and was released as a free-to-play game last week. In addition, there are also various options for spending money, including via a paid subscription for which 5.49 euros per month must be paid.
