Manufacturers reveal their AMD X470 motherboards

Following the official announcement of the second generation of Ryzen processors, AMD partners presented their motherboards with X470 chipset. Among others, Asus, MSI, ASRock and Gigabyte release new motherboards.

The X470 motherboards for the Friday Ryzen 2 processors are the first signs with 400-series chipsets, later this year probably B450 variants. There is no big difference with the X370 chipsets, although AMD only discloses the exact differences at a later date.

Asus releases five X470 motherboards: the ROG Crosshair VII Hero, the ROG Strix X470-F, the ROG Strix X470-I Gaming, the Prime X470-PRO and the TUF X470-Plus Gaming. The ROG Strix X470-I Gaming is an itx board, the other models are atx models. The ROG Crosshair VII Hero is the most extensive variant in the series, including support for two-way SLI and three-way CrossfireX. A WiFi Edition also comes out of this model. All boards support Asus’ Aura Sync rgb lighting. Asus has put a overview of the models on its site.
MSI unveils five motherboards: the X470 Gaming M7 AC, the Gaming Pro Carbon AC, the Gaming Pro Carbon, the Gaming Plus and the Gaming PR. The MSI X470 Gaming M7 AC is the top model in the line-up, with support for Mystic Light RGB lighting and extensive cooling including for the m2 slot for the SSD.
Gigabyte keeps it for the time being with three X470 motherboards in its Aorus line: the X470 Aorus Gaming 7 Wifi, the Aorus Gaming 5 WiFi and the Aorus Ultra Gaming. The three boards have a power supply with 10 + 2 phases. Furthermore, two pci-e x4 m2 slots are available for SSDs and the boards have strong cooling for the chipset, with fins and heatpipes.
