Manufacturers did not announce any laptops with AMD CPU during IFA

Despite the announcement of a large number of laptops during the last IFA exhibition in Berlin, none of these laptops contained an AMD Ryzen Mobile chip. Manufacturers give different explanations.

AMD itself did not want to respond to questions from Computerbase about the absence of announcements of laptops with AMD CPUs. Acer also did not respond. That manufacturer also presented a laptop with Intel Kaby Lake-G-chip with Radeon Vega-gpu. Lenovo points out that laptop announcements often coincide with new chip introductions; Intel announced its mobile Whiskey Lake and Amber Lake- platforms, but AMD had no new Ryzen Mobile chips, although new mobile apus seem to be coming . Asus points to its existing laptops with AMD chips and Dell is also doing that, with the addition that new copies will be added in the coming months.
Computerbase makes a reference to the GeForce Partner Program. Notebookcheck claimed earlier this year that this program is responsible for the low number of laptops with Kaby Lake-G chips with Radeon-gpu. This program claimed, among other things, that partners had to link their gaming brands exclusively to Nvidia. In May Nvidia stopped this program.
