Manufacturers Announce GeForce RTX 20 Cards
Following the announcement by Nvidia of the RTX 2080 Ti, the 2080 and the 2070, Monday evening, partners of the GPU maker have announced their versions of the video cards.
Asus is releasing no fewer than seven versions of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and as many comparable variants of the RTX 2080. RTX 2070 models are not yet announced by the company. Of the RTX 2080 and Ti variants, Turbo, Dual and RoG Strix models appear, with successively single, two and three fans. OC versions of the Dual and RoG Strix cards also appear, although Asus does not yet disclose the clock speeds, something that the other manufacturers have not yet done. All cards have USB-C. The RoG Strix cards also get two hdmi 2.0b and two displayport 1.4. The Dual models have to make do with a single hdmi 2.0b but three displayport 1.4 interfaces. Finally, the Turbo cards have to make do with one hdmi 2.0b and two displayport connections.
MSI shows an overview of its upcoming RTX cards, without going into detail. The company comes with water-cooled Sea Hawk graphics cards, Trio and Duke models with three fans and Ventus cards with two fans. The probably cheapest models will be the single fan Aero cards.
Gigabyte will initially launch five cards in the RTX 20 series, with more models to follow later, including water-cooled cards in the Aorus line. Gaming OC models of the RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 and 2070 will appear. Cards with Windforce coolers are also available from the RTX 2080 Ti and 2080.
EVGA is making eight variants of both the RTX 2080 Ti and the 2080 available. The most interesting models are the versions with EVGA’s new iCX2 cooler, of which the two FTW3 variants have three fans. The iCX2 cards take up 2.75 slots with their thickness. The fans have fluid-dynamic bearing, which makes operation quieter. EVGA also comes with three cards with more traditional dual-fan cooling and a single 2080 Ti and 2080 single-fan model.
Zotac is releasing overclocked AMP! editions of the RTX 2080 and the RTX 2080 Ti. These cards have three fans with eight heat pipes, a large heat sink with aluminum fins and a metal backplate. A single fan version of the RTX 2080 will also be released, while a non-AMP! model with three fans will also appear of the 2080 Ti. Like the other manufacturers, Zotac does not yet report Boost clock speeds.
Nvidia announced the first video cards in its new RTX series Monday evening. The video cards are built around the Turing GPU and, in addition to the new architecture, should distinguish themselves with RT cores for ray tracing. The new generation will be on sale from September 20. Some manufacturers are taking pre-orders for certain models, although little is known about the gaming performance of the new generation. Nvidia charges 1249, 849 and 639 euros for its own Founders Editions of the RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 and 2070 respectively. The starting prices of third-party cards would successively be 999, 699 and 499 dollars, but euro prices for these are not yet known. In web shops, however, prices of 1300 to 1400 euros are mentioned for the RTX 2080 Ti models.
