Manufacturer Aokzoe announces price Ryzen 7 handheld and comes with Kickstarter
Chinese manufacturer Aokzoe has announced the price of its upcoming gaming handheld. The Aokzoe A1 is available from $900 through the Kickstarter campaign and will have a suggested retail price of $1,100 upon release.
Aokzoe is a Kickstarter campaign started to get his gaming handheld off the ground. The manufacturer wants to collect 12,700 euros, which at the time of writing with 360,000 euros has more than succeeded. The first handhelds are expected to be delivered later this year.
When the Aokzoe A1 was announced, it was already known that the handheld will get an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor. The manufacturer is not secretive about the fact that it wants to compete with the Steam Deck. The handheld must be able to play PC games on relatively high settings. At the unveiling, Aokzoe already demonstrated that handheld games such as Forza Horizon 5, Cyberpunk and Elden Ring can run well.
The Aokzoe comes in four variants, with different amounts of RAM and storage space. The entry-level model that starts at 1100 euros and gets 16GB of ram and 512GB of storage. The storage comes from an NVMe drive and can be upgraded by users themselves, according to Aokzoe. The handheld also has a MicroSD card reader for more storage space. The handheld can be equipped with a maximum of 32GB RAM and 2TB storage space. In that case, the Aokzoe A1 costs 1500 euros.
Several handhelds are currently in development that will be equipped with a Ryzen 6000U processor. Aya Neo, GPD, AYN and OneXPlayer, among others, are working on a gaming handheld equipped with the Ryzen processor.
