Man runs Half-Life on Android Wear smartwatch
A ‘tech vlogger’ on YouTube got Half-Life running on his LG G Watch. He managed to get the shooter on the smartwatch with the help of SDLash3D, which can run games from the GoldSource engine on Android.
Tech vlogger Dave Bennet demonstrates in a video how Half-Life runs on Android Wear. The game manages to achieve maximums of 30fps on the platform, he claims, but also shows drops of 2fps. “The app offers touchscreen control, but with a 1.65″ screen that is almost impossible to do,” he continues.
Bennet uses SDLash3D, a fork of the Xash3D Engine, which in turn is a rewritten version of Valve’s GoldSource engine. The app runs on Android and can therefore run games such as Half-Life. Bennet has put an extensive manual online.
