Apple is reportedly giving the yet-to-be-announced iPhone SE 4 a new design. So far, devices from the SE series still resembled the brand’s old smartphones, such as the iPhone 8. The alleged upcoming iPhone SE, on the other hand, would look more like the iPhone 14.

That knows MacRumors to report based on own sources. According to the medium, Apple uses a modified iPhone 14 frame for the iPhone SE, which should be released sometime in 2025. This means that for the first time in the SE series, the company is moving away from the old iPhone design with large screen edges at the top and bottom. The device will also no longer have a home button, because the screen, apart from the bezels and the selfie camera notch, covers the entire front of the device.

Furthermore, the website says based on internal documents that the device will have a single camera, as was the case with previous SE models. The smartphone would have a single 48-megapixel main camera. It is not clear which selfie camera is being used.

For the time being, the iPhone SE 4 is in the pre-production stage, the sources report. Based on the available data, the website estimates that the device will be launched sometime in 2025. Apple usually releases SE iPhones in the spring. Incidentally, the usually well-informed leaker Ming-Chi Kuo reported at the beginning of this year that Apple had canceled the iPhone SE 4. Rumors have been going around for some time that the smartphone would be postponed or canceled, with a release date in 2024 still being discussed. Apple has not yet shared any official information about the status of the SE product line.
