The creators of Lord Of The Rings Online are releasing a Legendary server that will allow you to play the game as it originally came out in 2007. The Legendary server does offer the modern ui and classes.

Via a specially designed webpage, the makers announced the Legendary server to subscribers, and explained exactly what can be played. On Legendary, players get the original level cap of 50, and the Shadows of Angmar story is playable. That is the same as what Lotro originally came out with in 2007.

The gameplay is not intended to be limited to the original version of the game; Legendary is already equipped with all modern updates to, for example, the interface. The makers also want to increase the level cap over time and release new content; this should make it possible to relive the development of Lotro, according to the makers.

To play on the Legendary server, you must be a paying member. It is not possible to move characters from the regular servers to Legendary.
