The Swiss Logitech is, according to sources of the usually well-informed Reuters, in negotiations with Plantronics, an American maker of communication hardware, about an acquisition. An offer would have been made, converted from around two billion euros.

Plantronics mainly makes headsets and other hardware for voice communication for the business market, but also sells gaming headphones. The company has been around since 1961 and has also supplied headsets to NASA, according to Reuters, including the one Neil Armstrong wore on his first walk on the lunar surface.

Reuters sources wish to remain anonymous and emphasize that the deal is not yet complete and may also fail altogether. Plantronics has been looking for a buyer for some time. The two companies have not commented to Reuters. Earlier this year, Logitech also acquired Blue Microphones for $117 million.
