Logitech will stop producing its universal Harmony remotes. The company reports this on its support website. Logitech will continue to support the remote controls for the time being.

“We do not anticipate any impact to our customers from this announcement,” Logitech wrote in an announcement on its website, TechHive noted. “We plan to support our Harmony community and new Harmony customers, including by providing access to our software and apps to set up and manage your remotes.” The company plans to continue supporting Harmony remotes “as long as customers use them.”

Logitech also says it will continue to update the Harmony platform. The factory warranty will also continue to apply, also to future customers, the company reports. The company reports that the remaining stock of Harmony remotes will continue to be sold at retailers, but no new products will be produced.

Logitech has hinted several times in the past that the company might discontinue its Harmony products. In 2019, Logitech CEO Bracken Darrell told The Verge that Harmony has become less and less relevant as streaming services have grown in popularity, and that fewer and fewer people will need a universal remote in the future. In 2013, Logitech reported that it was considering selling its Harmony division, though it never got around to it.
