Logitech introduces whiteboard camera Scribe for 1299 euros
Logitech has introduced the whiteboard webcam Scribe. The 1080p webcam will have AI functions to make the hand of a presenter transparent, and will be recognized by Zoom and Teams as a whiteboard cam.
The Scribe is a webcam that users have to hang above a whiteboard. He then films the board from the wall. Users can write on the whiteboard with markers, for example; the Scribe sends these images to other users via video conferencing apps. The webcam sends images at 1080p and 15fps.
The camera uses artificial intelligence for various functions, such as a transparency function. For example, the hand of a user becomes transparent, so that the other users can see what is on the board. In addition, the Scribe can automatically improve the color and contrast of markers and the camera uses image segmentation to recognize and display sticky notes, for example.
The Scribe comes with a separate share button that works with Bluetooth Low Energy, so the user can share the camera images without having to walk to the PC. Zoom and Teams recognize the camera’s content as whiteboard content. The Scribe can handle whiteboards up to 1.2m high and 2m wide, and uses an Ethernet cable for the PC connection. The Logitech Scribe is now available for $ 1,299.
