Logitech Introduces New MX Mouse With Customizable Scroll Wheel
Logitech has announced the MX Master Wireless Mouse, a mouse that features a “thumb wheel” and an adjustable scroll wheel that allows switching between click-to-click and scrolling. The mouse is also compatible with both Bluetooth 4.0 and Logitech’s Unifying technology.
The thumbwheel on the MX Master Wireless Mouse allows the user to scroll horizontally. The Logitech Options driver software, along with the thumbwheel, allows for potentially fast switching between applications, among other things. Multi-touch gestures can also be emulated in Windows 8 and OS X. The scroll wheel on the MX Master Wireless Mouse offers an adjustable speed, according to the manufacturer.
According to Logitech, the Darkfield laser sensor offers improved accuracy of the optical sensor. The manufacturer claims that the mouse even works well on high-gloss surfaces and glass, provided it is at least 4mm thick. The maximum accuracy is 1600dpi.
The MX Master Wireless Mouse allows the user to switch between multiple devices with the push of a button located on the bottom of the mouse. In addition, the mouse is compatible with both Bluetooth 4.0 and Logitech’s Unifying technology. Furthermore, according to Logitech, the internal battery can be charged enough in 4 minutes to use the mouse for a day. A full battery could power the mouse for 40 days.
Logitech charges a suggested retail price of 99.99 euros for the MX Master Wireless Mouse, which is currently only available in a version for right-handers. The control device is available immediately.
