Logitech announces the G29 Driving Force racing wheel for the PlayStation 3 and 4. The steering wheel also works according to the specifications on Windows 7 or higher. In addition to the steering wheel, the whole has three floor pedals.

The company says it has worked with Sony for eighteen months to arrive at a satisfactory end result. The leather-trimmed steering wheel has all the standard PlayStation buttons incorporated with a few extra buttons and switches. In addition, there are red-yellow-green LEDs in the steering wheel to determine the switching moment. The steering wheel itself can turn 900 degrees, or two and a half times. There are two motors for force feedback in the steering wheel. It must also be felt that, for example, tires are subject to wear or that there is over or understeer.

The company says it has looked closely at how pedals react in a real car. For example, the brake pedal should give the feeling that there is increasing pressure on the brake. Unlike most normal cars, the user can also adjust the pedal surfaces to improve the foot’s rolling motion. The company’s separately available Force lever can also be used for shifting.

Logitech is also working on a Logitech G-series racing wheel for the Xbox One and PC. That’s the G920 Driving Force. The steering wheel for the Xbox is expected in October and has almost the same specifications as the G29. The G920 has to do without LED status lights in the steering wheel and gets buttons inspired by the Xbox controllers.

Both the G29 and G920 Driving Force will cost 399 euros upon introduction. However, the G29 will be available earlier, namely from July 2015.

Update 18.38: Added G920 Driving Force for Xbox One and PC.
