Logitech: Harmony Link remotes will soon stop working
Logitech has informed customers with a Harmony Link remote that it will end support and associated service on March 16, 2018. After this date, the devices will no longer work. Warranty users will receive a replacement.
Logitech announced the decision in a response to a forum thread following an email to customers published by Techspot. Users who still have a warranty claim will receive a replacement Harmony Hub. If the warranty is no longer in place, they will receive a 35 percent discount on the same device.
Users on the forum and on Reddit are critical of the Swiss company’s decision. Some claim to have recently purchased the device. Logitech introduced the Harmony Link in 2011 as a universal remote. The device allows users to control their TV via an app for iOS and Android by connecting a WiFi infrared transmitter.
