Logitech announced at E3 that it will equip three gaming mice with a better sensor. This HERO 16K sensor should provide better performance and precision and an improved battery life. The mice are expected to be ordered in June.

According to Logitech, it concerns the two wireless mice G903 and G703, and the wired G403. These mice will soon be equipped with the HERO sensor, where HERO stands for High Efficiency Rated Optical according to Logitech. This sensor is said to be ten times more energy efficient than the previous generation, while providing “highly accurate gameplay”. The HERO sensor is not new in Logitech mice, it is included in the company’s Pro mice.

With the improved sensor, the G903 gets a battery life of 140 hours. That is more than a hundred hours more than the current G903 can handle according to Logitech. As far as is known, Logitech has made little changes to the mouse and it can still charge wirelessly through Logitech’s Wireless Charging System. The mouse also has adjustable RGB lighting, an ambidextrous design and up to 11 programmable buttons.

The battery gain is a lot less with the G703. The G703 will soon be able to last up to 35 hours, whereas with the current version it is between 24 and 32 hours, depending on whether the lighting is on or not. However, the maximum resolution is increased from 12,000dpi to 16,000dpi and the weight has been reduced to 95 grams. This mouse can also be charged wirelessly with Logitech equipment.

About the G403, Logitech writes that the better HERO sensor “gives users the tracking accuracy and performance” they need to win. The Swiss company goes on to say that all three mice are “expected” to be available in June. The G403 should cost 70 euros, the G703 100 euros and the G903 150 euros.
