Logitech comes with successor to the popular c920 webcam
Logitech has released a new version of the C920, one of the company’s most popular webcams. The new model can record 720p video at 60fps, and has the ability to digitally adjust the background of videos.
On its blog, Logitech explains the main features of the new webcam, which has been given the model number C922. As with the previous model, video can be recorded with a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. The difference is that at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels it is now possible to record at 60fps.
In addition, Logitech is advertising something it calls digital dynamic background replacement. This makes it possible to adjust the background of the video, without the need for professional equipment, according to Logitech. For this, the company partnered with Personify, who provided the software. A license on Xsplit is also included, for a period of three months. This software allows live streaming to video services such as Twitch and YouTube.
The new Logitech webcam also contains two microphones to suppress background noise, and the software must be able to deal with varying lighting conditions. Video is provided with h.264 compression and the field of view is 78 degrees.
The C922 should be available immediately, for a price of around 100 euros. The device is for sale in the Logitech web store itself.
