Logitech has announced the G305. This is a wireless mouse intended for gamers. The optical sensor is the HERO sensor, which is also included in the higher positioned G603 mouse, for example. According to Logitech, this sensor allows a useful life of nine months.

The G305 features the HERO sensor, which supports a setting of between 200 and 12,000 dpi. That’s the same specification as the older pmw3366 sensor, but according to Logitech, the new sensor is ten times more energy efficient, extending the duration of wireless use. The mouse also uses Logitech’s Lightspeed technology, a wireless technology that works with a USB dongle that can be stored in the mouse.

Thanks to the HERO sensor, the battery life in ‘performance’ mode, with a response time of 1ms, amounts to 250 hours on a single AA battery. If the endurance mode is enabled and the response time is set to 8ms, the usage time should increase to nine months. The relatively compact mouse weighs 99 grams including battery, comes in a white and a black version, and will be available later this month for sixty dollars; converted and including VAT, this comes out to approximately the same amount in euros.
