Linking a Nintendo Account to Facebook or Twitter will soon no longer be possible

It will no longer be possible to link a Twitter or Facebook account to a Nintendo account from October 25, the manufacturer reported on Tuesday. From that date, users will still be able to use their Google or Apple account to sign in to their Nintendo Account.

Nintendo reports that it may take longer for the login options to be removed due to possible technical problems. If canceling the feature goes smoothly, from October 25th users will only be able to log in to their Nintendo Account using their email address, a Google account or an Apple account.

The ability to earn My Nintendo Points by linking a Twitter or Facebook account will also be removed. Furthermore, the option to delete images taken with the 3DS or Wii U . will disappear to share via Facebook or Twitter. Images posted to the 3DS and Wii U social media platforms before October 25 will remain available.

Nintendo has been phasing out certain digital services in recent months. For example, from March 27, 2023, it will no longer be possible to buy games via the eShop on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The support services for these stores have been closed before, such as using a credit card or credit card to add money. Users can still redeem valid download codes before the end of March 2023 to get games and DLC.
