LIFX is releasing a new version of its Wi-Fi LED bulb that can display 16 million colors. The lamp has WiFi and can be controlled directly via the app that is available for Android, iOS and Windows 10.

The LIFX Color 1000 is the successor to the LIFX Original. Like its predecessor, the Wi-Fi LED bulb can display sixteen million different colors, including a thousand shades of white with a color temperature of 2500K to 9000K. The maximum brightness is 1055 lumens, which is comparable to a 75 Watt incandescent lamp.

LIFX asks 60 dollars for the Color 1000, converted including VAT that is 64 euros. Currently, the Wi-Fi lamp is being sent out to US customers, international buyers will get their turn in November. In April, the LIFX White 800 appeared, a cheaper variant that only displays white light with a color temperature of 2700 to 6500K. The light output of this lamp, which costs 40 dollars, is a maximum of 890 lumens.
