Life is Strange: Remastered Collection has been delayed to early 2022
Square Enix is postponing the release of the Life is Strange remaster to early 2022. The Remastered Collection consists of the original game and prequel Before the Storm and was supposed to be released on September 30, but the developers indicate that they need more time.
The developers announce the delay in a tweet. This is the Life is Strange Remastered Collection, a bundle of both the original Life is Strange game and the prequel Before the Storm, both of which are being visually polished up. At the same time, Square Enix is working on a successor to the original game, which should be released in September. “Due to the ongoing hurdles surrounding the global pandemic, we want to ease the pressure on the team by giving them more time between the release of Life is Strange: True Colors and the Remastered Collection,” Square Enix wrote. The game has therefore been postponed to ‘early 2022’ on all platforms. Square Enix does not mention an exact date.
The third game in the Life is Strange series, True Colors, is still out on September 10 for most platforms except for the Nintendo Switch. That will follow ‘sometime in 2021’. Shortly after the release of True Colors, the Wavelengths dlc will be released. In it, players play as radio DJ Steph Gingrich, and can, among other things, give advice to callers via a Dungeons and Dragons-like system. The DLC will be released on September 30.
Players who purchase Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition will also receive free access to the two games in the Remastered Collection. That deal already existed, and will continue to exist, says Square Enix. Players can then download the game when it’s out.
