Life is Strange 2 makers give details about story and show trailer

Developer Dontnod has revealed details about Life is Strange 2 and released a trailer. The episodic game is about brothers Sean and Daniel Diaz, who are sixteen and nine years old and are on the run from the police.

Sean and Daniel live a normal life in the Washington city of Seattle, but a tragic event changes their lives. The brothers flee and decide to go to Mexico, where their family comes from. The developer does not tell what exactly is going on; Life is Strange 2 players should probably find out in-game.

The game follows the boys’ journey. Along the way, the brothers encounter all kinds of challenges and dangers. In the role of Sean, the player has to make important decisions and take care of the younger brother. According to the developers, the game focuses on brotherhood, parenting and maturing. Various moral dilemmas are discussed. A twenty minute gameplay video can be viewed on YouTube.

Life is Strange 2 contains ‘a new force’, the makers say. What exactly that is and how that is reflected in the game, the developer does not yet say. The first part of Life is Strange was about the girl Maxine, who can turn back time. The new game will also feature references to The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, a free game released in June and set in the same universe as Life is Strange 2.

Dontnod previously announced that the first episode of Life is Strange 2 will be released on September 27. There will be a total of five episodes. The game is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
