Licensee Zound Industries acquires audio company Marshall. Zound has been making products with the Marshall brand name on them for ten years. After the takeover, the company will continue under the name Marshall Group.

Zound already made the speakers and headphones under the name Marshall. In the music world, Marshall is known for its amplifiers and well-known artists have been working with the equipment since the 1960s. Marshall has been around since 1962. This is the first time that the company has been taken over.

It is unknown what Zound will pay for the takeover. After the acquisition, the company will have annual revenues of around $360 million. The board of the new company will include two people from the Marshall family, to which the company owes its name. The new CEO thinks that not much will change after the takeover, he tells The Verge. The acquisition concerns the entire company, including its production facilities and sub-brands, such as Natal Drums, Marshall Records and Marshall Live Agency.
