LibreOffice is available through Microsoft Store
The Document Foundation (TDF) offers its office software package LibreOffice through the Microsoft Store. The developer asks 4.59 euros for this version. That amount will be invested in ‘improving the LibreOffice project’.
In a message write TDF Friday that it has made LibreOffice available in the Microsoft Store for users who want to get their desktop software from Microsoft’s own sales channel. “Our goal is to better meet the needs of individuals and companies, although we know that the positive effects of the new strategy will only be visible in the long term. Educating companies about foss is not an easy task, especially if you want to stay true to the principles of free software,” said TDF.
TDF asks 4.59 euros for the Microsoft Store version. That amount is used to continue to support and improve the software. LibreOffice is still available for free through the official website.
