Lian-Li has announced a CPU water block. The CB-01 was developed in collaboration with a team from Overclockers UK. The block offers standard support for Intel sockets, but in combination with a bracket also works with AMD sockets.

The HydrOC CB-01 is the first waterblock from case manufacturer Lian-Li, and the company enlisted the help of a team of overclockers from the Overclockers UK site in its development. The block contains a base of copper with a nickel coating, and a layer of tin and cobalt. Above it is a block of Plexiglas. The manufacturer has pre-drilled holes for the placement of 5mm LEDs.

The CB-01 fits as standard on recent Intel sockets, including LGA 2011, 1366, 1155 and 775. In addition, support for AMD sockets such as the AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1 and FM2 can be added via a bracket. The waterblock comes with backplates for Intel and AMD processors and a layer of foam rubber should protect the motherboard from scratches.

Delivery of the HydrOC CB-01 will start at the end of December via Overclockers UK for 44.90 pounds, or 64 euros.
