Lian Li introduces 550 and 750 watt sfx-l power supplies

Lian Li has quietly added two sfx-l power supplies to its range with 550 and 750 watts of power. The PE-550 has 80Plus Gold certification and the PE-750 gets 80Plus Platinum. Both are modular and equipped with thin 120mm fans.

Lian Li herself has not announced the introduction of the new power supplies. The additions to the manufacturer’s site were picked up by SFF Network. It also states that while it appears that the fans of the two power supplies are controlled based on the temperature of the power supply, it probably won’t passively cool itself at low enough temperatures.

According to Lian Li’s product pages, both the PE-550 and PE-750 have two PCIe connections and three SATA connections. Visually, the two models differ from each other in terms of connectors; with the PE-750, these protrude slightly from the power supply.

Sfx-l is the same, compact form factor as sfx, only power supplies in this design are slightly longer. This offers the opportunity to give the power supplies more power and larger, quieter fans without having to fit into small housings. At the moment nothing is known about prices and availability of the new Lian Li power supplies.
