LG will release smartwatch with physical dials next week
LG is also said to be planning to announce a smartwatch that will feature physical watch faces at an event announcing the V40 ThinQ. Rumors about this LG Watch W7 came out almost six months ago.
It is about the smartwatch that would previously be known as the LG Watch Timepiece. This hybrid smartwatch would have physical dials, and run on Wear OS. There is a quartz movement with physical hands to show the time. When Wear OS is turned off, the watch can function for hundreds of days with a 240mAh battery. In addition, there is a round 1.2″ screen with a resolution of 360×360 pixels, for displaying Wear OS.
However, the smartwatch would now be renamed the Watch W7, so poses telecom insider Evan Blass. LG would aim for a simultaneous introduction with the new smartphone V40 ThinQ; this device will be announced at an event scheduled for October 3.
Rumors earlier this year show that the Watch W7 has 4GB storage, 768MB lpddr3 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2100-soc. The watch would also support WiFi-n and Bluetooth 4.2, and there would be a USB-C port. It is not known whether LG has made changes to the specifications in the meantime.
