LG will release G8s ThinQ in the Benelux in mid-July for 699 euros
LG announces that the G8s ThinQ will be available in the Benelux from mid-July. The smartphone that was presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona is a slightly cheaper variant of the LG G8 ThinQ, and has a target price of 699 euros.
The LG G8s ThinQ, with its 6.2 “FullVision OLED screen of 2248×1080 pixels, is a fraction larger than the G8 ThinQ. That device, which will not be on the market in the Benelux for the time being, has a 6.1” plastic OLED screen with a higher resolution of 3120×1440 pixels. Another difference is that the G8 ThinQ uses the screen as a speaker; the G8s ThinQ features normal stereo speakers.
LG equips the G8s ThinQ with five cameras. On the back it is a main camera of 12 megapixels, a wide-angle lens of 13 megapixels and a telephoto lens of 12 megapixels. On the front, the device has an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a so-called time-of-flight camera. It measures the distance to the object through light reflection and would thus generate more accurate depth information. According to LG, users can edit the background, colors and light of their self-portraits afterwards. The cool camera also enables ‘palm recognition’; users can operate the basic functions of the device without touching the device.
The LG G8s ThinQ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, flanked by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that is expandable up to 1TB via micro-SD. Furthermore, the smartphone has a battery of 3550mAh with support for wireless charging. The device has a suggested retail price of 699 euros.
