LG will present G2 Mini smartphone in two weeks
LG is going to release a smaller version of its top model smartphone: the LG G2 Mini. The manufacturer made the announcement via its own Facebook page. The caption states that the mini variant will be exhibited at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Facebook photo shows the back of the device next to the larger G2. Judging by this image, the phone measures 115x59mm, which would make it about the same size as, say, an iPhone 4. The image also shows that LG has opted to place the buttons on the back of the housing, just like with the G2.
The dimensions of the G2 Mini in the image do not match information that PhoneArena has extracted from documents from the FCC approval agency. For example, according to that documentation, the phone is 65.8mm wide and 128.8mm long, which makes it quite possible that the phone will be equipped with a 4.7″ screen, as a previous rumor said.
The FCC documents further state that the battery is interchangeable. Nothing is known about the rest of the specifications, such as the processor used or the screen resolution. LG will present the device in two weeks, during the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona.
