LG to release 98″ 8k TV in the second half of this year
LG has indicated that it wants to bring an 8k television to the market in the second half of this year. The model has a screen diagonal of no less than 98 “. The manufacturer also comes with new 4k televisions this year.
The Korean manufacturer will show its new televisions at the CES fair, which will be held in Las Vegas from January 6-9. The most startling model of the 2016 lineup is the 98″ TV, for which LG will probably ask for more than 100,000 euros, although no prices have been announced yet. It is unclear whether a European release is also planned, although it is known that LG plans to start sales in the second half of this year.
LG has also announced the arrival of a number of new 4k televisions. The UH9500 and UH9550 are the top models with 10bit panels based on IPS technology. These televisions have a screen diagonal of 55″ to 86″, and the UH9500 is the thinnest with a screen thickness of only 6.6 mm. LG has also equipped the UH9550 with a Harman Kardon audio system. In addition to these two models, LG also comes with the UH8500 and the UH8550, which can be supplied with a screen diagonal of 55″ to 75″.
LG has added several picture and sound enhancing techniques to the new televisions, such as HDR, and a technology to reduce reflections and increase contrast. When the four announced 4k models will go on sale is not yet known, as are the prices that LG wants to ask.
