LG starts selling 84″ TV with 4k resolution
The South Korean electronics giant LG Electronics is going to market its huge 84″ television with 4k resolution in small quantities. Customers who pre-order the device will receive gifts from the manufacturer.
The 4k television named 84LM9600 has 3840×2160 pixels in 2D image, while the TV switches back to 1080p format in 3D image. LG has christened the new specification uhdtv, which will later include 8k TVs with a resolution of 7680×4320 pixels.
For 3d display passive 3d glasses are required, which are supplied by LG. LG further reports that some smart TV functions are supported and that the TV produces 2.2 channel sound. The television costs about 25 million won, converted about 17,900 euros. There are currently only 84 available. The manufacturer plans to release the television in North America, Europe and Asia later this year.
It is striking that customers who pre-order the television will receive gifts in the form of a 3D camcorder and free 3D glasses. In addition, they can choose from various vouchers, an espresso machine or an LG-one PC.
LG’s announcement comes in response to the 75 “television that Samsung previously announced. Toshiba is the first to include a 4k television in its range, although it has a screen diagonal of ‘only’ 55 inches.
