LG shows smartphone with large battery in a 7.9 mm thick housing
LG has shown the X Power, a smartphone with a battery with a capacity of 4100mAh in a housing of 7.9mm thick. The manufacturer has also built fast charging into the device, of which not much is known.
LG does not mention any specifications of the smartphone, but according to previous rumors, the X Power has a 5.3 “LCD with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and it runs on a MediaTek MT6735-soc, a quad-core with four Cortex A53 cores at maximum. 1.2GHz and a Mali-T720 GPU.The device would have 2GB of memory and storage of 16GB.
In addition to the X Power, LG mentions three other devices in the series, although it does not seem to be a full announcement. The X Mach has an undisclosed processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.8GHz and lte cat 9 support. This may be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808. The camera has 1.55μm pixels. The best-known sensor is the IMX377 from Sony, which is included in the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and HTC 10.
The X Style is a slim smartphone with a focus on design, while the X Max has a large screen. Further details are unknown. Whether and when the devices will be released in the Benelux is also unknown.
Earlier this year, LG announced the X Cam and X Screen in the new X series, which now includes six devices. The X Cam distinguishes itself with a dual camera, while the X Screen has to have a second screen above the regular screen.
The 4100mAh battery in smartphones like the X Power is not unique. Manufacturer Xiaomi, among others, has put a battery of this capacity in various smartphones. The most recent of these is the Redmi 3S, a device with an 8.5 mm thick housing, a 5 “screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and a Snapdragon 430-soc from Qualcomm. The phone with a metal housing and fingerprint scanner has a price from 699 yuan, currently converted around 94 euros.
