LG shows sketches of new design for upcoming smartphone
LG comes with a new design for its smartphones. The manufacturer calls this minimalistic and ‘with a wink to nature’. The high-end devices of the manufacturer had a design in recent years that has not changed much.
LG speaks of a ‘control drop camera’ at the back. With this, the manufacturer refers to the cameras that are positioned below each other in circles that are arranged from largest to smallest. The South Korean manufacturer claims to deviate from industry trends with its design. LG refers to high-end devices that have a square camera island.
Both the screen and the back will have rounded edges. The curve is symmetrical, LG says. Such a design is adopted by many more manufacturers. Samsung has just stepped away from that with its S20 series, but for example Huawei and Oppo provide their top models with rounded screen edges.
The sketches make it clear that LG’s new smartphone will have three cameras on the back. The fourth circle is an LED flash. It is not yet clear whether the front will have a notch in the screen. It is not visible in the sketches.
The new design is a significant change from the current LG smartphones. Since the 2018 LG G7, they have a design that hasn’t changed much, with the rear cameras lined up horizontally. When LG will release a smartphone with the new design has not yet been announced.
