LG releases smart speaker with screen in US

LG is releasing a smart speaker in the United States that has a screen and which integrates support for Google Assistant. The device is currently only available in the US.

The LG Xboom AI ThinQ WK9, or the WK9, has an 8″ touchscreen with an undisclosed HD resolution, on which the user can watch YouTube videos, for example. The device has support for Bluetooth and WiFi, a built-in Chromecast and a front camera with a resolution of five megapixels.For the speaker part, LG has collaborated with Meridian Audio, the 20W speakers should provide good sound and accurate bass despite their size.

According to LG, the speaker will also be released in other regions, although it is not yet clear which regions it concerns and when the release will take place there. The WK9 measures 370x244x145mm, weighs 1.5kg and costs $300 in the United States, although there is now a discount that will take $100 off the price.
