LG releases app for controlling smartphone from PC via Bluetooth
LG releases an app to control smartphones via bluetooth from a PC. For example, it is possible to enter text via the PC keyboard and users can paste things that they copy from the PC into apps on the phone.
The function works via an app on the phone and a corresponding program on the PC to set up the connection. LG says VPInput will work on the G4, V10 and G5, leaving only recent high-end phones eligible to run the application.
The connection is made via bluetooth, after which it is possible to control the telephone with the input devices of the PC, such as the keyboard and mouse. In addition, it is possible, for example, to launch apps on the phone via shortcuts from the PC keyboard, paste text that users copy from Windows programs via ctrl-c/ctrl-v and display screenshots of the phone directly on the PC. -screen. In order for the function to work, the PC obviously needs a Bluetooth connection, the manufacturer warns.
It is the first time that LG offers such a function, although there have been programs that do the same for some time. For example, competitor Samsung has SideSync that enables such functions. It is unknown why other LG devices, such as recent midrange models, are not compatible: all LG smartphones have bluetooth on board.
