LG has presented the three models under the name Q7. It concerns devices with a 5.5 “screen with an 18: 9 ratio. Compared to the Q6, the Q7 phones get a waterproof housing, fingerprint scanner on the back and better audio hardware.

All three Q7 models will receive support for DTS:X for surround sound, while the Q7+ has the quad-dac on board that LG also has in its G7 ThinQ and V30, LG says. This enables better and louder sound via the 3.5mm output.

The housing of the Q7 phones is dust and waterproof and has an ip68 rating. Like last year’s Q6, the screen has a diagonal of 5.5″ and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The 18:9 ratio of the screen allows the phone to be narrower than phones with a 16:9 screen of 5 .5″ and the device measures 143.8×69.3×8.4mm. The 145-gram housing contains a 3000mAh battery.

The Q7 phones come in three variants. The cheapest is called Q7α, the middle Q7 and the most expensive Q7+. Last year, only the middle one of the three was released in the Benelux. It is unknown if that will be the same now. LG will deliver the Q7 phones in unnamed European countries from early June. Whether, when and at what price Q7 models will be released in the Benelux is unknown.
