LG presents neckband with built-in speakers

LG comes with a neckband that contains four speakers. The ‘neck speaker’ must provide the wearer with surround sound. The manufacturer also introduces wireless earbuds that are charged in a supplied neckband.

The LG Tone Studio neck speaker has two speakers at the top with a ‘full’ range and two speakers at the bottom that provide vibrations. According to LG, this ensures that the wearer of the neckband can hear surround sound during movies and games. The manufacturer says it has collaborated with DTS for the design and to use a hi-fi dac in the device. There’s a Dual Play feature, which can sync the sound between two of the wearables, so people can watch the same movie together using their own speaker.

LG also presents the wireless Tone Free earbuds, which come with a neckband. The band provides vibrations when notifications come in and contains a battery, so that the earbuds are charged when they are attached to the band. The manufacturer also notes that users will not lose the earbuds quickly as a result.

Both the neck speaker and the wireless earbuds use Bluetooth. LG has not yet given many technical details. During the CES in early January, the manufacturer will show the products and announce all specifications.
