LG presents midrange smartphones with large battery for the Indian market

LG has presented three midrange smartphones with a 4000mAh battery. The devices are intended for the Indian market, where competition is fierce thanks to Samsung’s Galaxy M series and Xiaomi’s Redmi phones.

It concerns a total of three phones, the W10, W30 and W30 Pro. The first two run on a MediaTek Helio P22, a soc with eight Cortex A53 cores at a maximum of 2GHz and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU at 650MHz. The W10 and W30 have 3GB of lpddr3 memory and 32GB of emmc storage; the W30 Pro has 4GB and 64GB. The Pro also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 instead of the MediaTek soc.

That MediaTek-soc can handle screens with a resolution of up to 720p and the three phones have that too. In all cases, it concerns an LCD with a surface of around 96 cm². The LCDs have a resolution of 1512×720 pixels for the W10 and 1520×720 pixels for the W30 and W30 Pro.

All three phones have a fingerprint scanner on the back and a micro USB port on the bottom. They also have a 3.5mm jack for headsets. The cameras are different. The W10 has a single camera with an additional camera as a depth sensor. The W30 and W30 Pro involve multiple cameras: one with a regular wide-angle lens, one with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a depth sensor.

The W10 and W30 come out in India for 8999 and 9999 rupees, currently converted around 115 and 127 euros. The price of the W30 Pro is not yet known.
