LG has presented a laptop with a 17-inch screen and claims that the device can last 19.5 hours on a single battery charge. The 1340-gram laptop has a battery with a capacity of 72Wh.
The LG Gram 17 has a housing of 381x266x17.4mm, LG says. The housing contains an LCD with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels and a screen ratio of 16:10. The processor is an Intel Core i7-8565U at 1.8GHz with a boost to 4.6GHz. LG puts 16GB of DDR4 memory in the laptop, with a 512GB SSD and an extra empty slot.
The laptop has a USB-C port, three USB-A ports, HDMI output, microSD slot and 3.5mm jack. For authentication, there is a fingerprint scanner in the laptop. The 72Wh battery achieves 19.5 hours on the 2014 version of MobileMark, although it remains unknown what battery life the laptop will achieve in practice.
LG also presented a 14″ version with the same 72Wh battery, which lasted 21 hours on MobileMark. The smaller version is a 2-in-1 with folding keyboard and with a 14″ screen with 1920×1080 pixels. LG supplies a stylus to draw on the display. The processor, memory and storage are the same. The 14″-Gram measures 325x211x17.9mm and weighs 1145 grams. LG will show the new laptops publicly for the first time at CES electronics show next month. The 17″ version should cost $1699, the price for the small version is not yet known.
