LG makes GeForce NOW available for 2020 TVs
LG Electronics announced during the CES trade show in Las Vegas that Nvidia’s game streaming service GeForce NOW is coming to LG televisions from 2020. In addition, Amazon’s game streaming service Luna is coming to televisions released this year.
GeForce NOW gets according to LG an upgrade from 1080p to 4k60 later this year, although that is limited to a number of unnamed models. Nvidia’s streaming service was already available on 2021 and 2022 TVs running webOS 6.0 and will soon also be available for 2020 models running webOS 5.0. The service will probably not be available on older TV models.
LG also announced that Amazon’s streaming service Luna will be available on the OLED and LCD TVs that LG will release this year. These are models that run on webOS 23. The manufacturer previously announced that it has no plans to make this latest version of webOS available for televisions released in previous years. This means that support for Luna will probably only be limited to 2023 models, although this is only relevant for the United States for the time being; Luna is only available there.
