LG presents its OLED TVs for 2021. The G1 series will receive renewed OLED panels that, according to LG, achieve a higher brightness. These models will be available in 77, 65 and 55″. The C1 series will not receive a higher brightness and will include sizes from 48″ to 83″.

LG has not yet announced which brightness the new evo-oled panels will achieve. In the announcement, the manufacturer does not mention technical details and LG Display, the manufacturer that makes the panels, has not yet explained in detail how the evo panels work. The manufacturer did say that the new panels are 20 percent more efficient and can therefore be brighter.

The evo panels only end up in the G1 series of OLED TVs. Those are the successors of the GX models. In this series, TVs come out with screen diagonals of 77″, 65″ and 55″. LG also comes with successors for the BX, CX and ZX series. This concerns the B1, C1 and Z1 models.

LG’s new C1 series includes models in 48″, 55″, 65″, 77″ and the new 83″ format. These OLED TVs do not get the new evo panels and have a 4k resolution. The Z1 models are successors to the 8k OLED TVs and will probably be available in the same 77″ and 88″ versions as the current models.

Both the G1 and C1 TVs will receive a new Alpha 9 Gen 4 image processor. According to the manufacturer, this offers better intelligent image enhancers and options such as AI Sound Pro, to equalize sound levels from different channels or streaming apps. The TVs get HDMI 2.1 connections and there’s a new menu called Game Optimizer, which groups settings such as G-Sync and vrr.

LG has not yet given details about the B1-series, although its arrival is mentioned in the press release. In previous B models, LG used an older image processor, but the panels were the same as those of the C series.

In its CES presentation, which is on YouTube, LG mentions the arrival of Stadia to OLED TVs. This indicates that LG and Google are making an app available on the TVs, with which users can use the game streaming service. A Twitch app for LG’s webOS will also appear.

When the new OLED TVs come out and what they will cost has not yet been announced. LG previously announced a new interface for webOS and the manufacturer introduced the QNED series of LCD TVs with mini LED backlight.

LG has not yet announced a 42″ OLED TV. LG Display did announce that the manufacturer is working on such panels. It is not yet known when 42″ OLED TVs will actually appear. LG has also not yet announced a bendable 48-inch OLED TV. LG Display previously demonstrated a prototype.
