LG has announced the Lifeband Touch, a fitness bracelet equipped with an OLED screen. The device can be connected to a smartphone and contains sensors to count steps, for example. In addition, LG comes with earplugs that can measure heart rate.

The manufacturer has stated that the Lifeband Touch is mainly intended for sports. For this, it has several sensors on board, including an altimeter and an accelerometer that can count steps. The screen, which is of the OLED type, has a diagonal of only 0.9″, while the resolution is 128×32 pixels. Connection to a smartphone can be made via bluetooth 4.0.

According to LG, the Lifeband Touch works with both Android and iOS, for which the manufacturer has released a fitness app. Via the connection with the smartphone, it is also possible to receive notifications and incoming telephone calls on the bracelet. It is also possible to use the Lifeband Touch as a control for the music player.

At the same time, LG announced the Heart Rate Earphones. These are, as the name suggests, capable of measuring the user’s heart rate. This is done by measuring blood flows in the ear. You can communicate with the Lifeband Touch or a smartphone via a bluetooth connection.

The Lifeband Touch will be released in the United States on May 18. A few weeks later, the fitness bracelet also comes to Europe. The bracelet costs $150, while the earbuds cost $180. European prices are not yet known, but will probably be around 150 euros and 180 euros.
