LG will release the Magnit in certain markets. This is the 163 “television whose arrival was announced in July. It is a modular LED screen based on microleds, mainly aimed at commercial use.

The LG Magnit consists of several modules, each of which has a resolution of 640×360 pixels. These modules measure 600,337,5x45mm and are in turn formed by eight submodules with a resolution of 160×180 and a size of 150x170mm. Each granule weighs 150g and the pixel pitch is 0.9mm. In comparison, the LED screen that LG placed in a Taiwanese cinema has a pixel pitch of 3.3 mm.

According to the specifications, the screen achieves a peak brightness of 1200cd / m², while the regular brightness comes out at 600cd / m². The contrast ratio would be 150,000: 1 and there is support for hdr10 which also supports dynamic tone mapping. The maximum refresh rate is 60Hz. According to LG, the Magnit is able to show much deeper black levels than conventional LED screens, which the company attributes to the applied coating, which also has to prevent reflections and protect the pixels.

The LG Magnit is larger than The Wall with its screen diagonal of 163 “, a modular Samsung micro-LED television with a diagonal of 146”. This Samsung screen is also aimed at companies, although Samsung already showed four microled TVs for home use at the beginning of this year, which were televisions with sizes of 75, 88, 93 and 110 inches. Samsung’s first consumer micro-televisions are expected to appear next year at the earliest, although it is more likely that it will take longer, due to the technical challenges in the form of the production process and the lowering of the pixel pitch. LG has not yet announced any microled products for the home consumer, although it is obvious that the manufacturer will also do this, following Samsung.
