‘LG does not call the next high-end smartphone LG G7’
LG will not call its next high-end smartphone the LG G7, claims the South Korean newspaper Digital Daily. The final name of the next LG smartphone is currently unknown.
LG is considering working with dozens, such as with the V10, V20 and V30, so the upcoming smartphone will be called G10. It may also be that LG replaces the G series with something else, claims Digital Daily. The decision would be made in a few months. LG would like to announce the next smartphone on February 25, on the eve of the Mobile World Congress telecom fair in Barcelona.
According to LG, users have come to associate a lower single number with outdated models. Therefore, it would no longer be desirable to use the singular numbers. LG has had the G series since 2012, when the first Optimus G came out. The G2, G3, G4, G5 followed later, and last year the G6.
LG has not yet announced anything about its next high-end device. The manufacturer generally does this in the course of January. The G6 was released in March last year, the V30 has only been available in the Benelux for a month.
